Compete to make your Vision for Canada a Reality

Create Your Canada is a contest where young people from across the riding of Edmonton Strathcona will have an opportunity to submit their ideas for a new federal law with the aim of making Canada a stronger, and better country for all.

Eligibility:

All students in Grade 9 through 12 who live or attend school in the federal riding of Edmonton Strathcona are eligible to submit an idea.

Submit your idea by February 20th, 2023 by filling out the submission form.

If successful, you’ll work closely with MP Heather McPherson, your Member of Parliament for Edmonton Strathcona, to have your idea drafted into a Private Members Bill.

The winner(s) will be flown out to Ottawa to see their Private Member’s Bill (PMB) presented to the House of Commons (HoC) in person with all accommodations, flights, and food provided by MP McPherson.

The trip to Ottawa will consist of a tour of Parliament, including a meal in the Parliamentary dining room with MP McPherson, a private visit to the Parliamentary Chamber, Sir John A. MacDonald’s first office, the Library of Parliament, and more.
